Sukkot, the first of the year's harvest festivals, is upon us. Try this yummy recipe served hot in your sukkah!

cranberry heart

Cranberry Crunch Kugel

1 cup uncooked rolled oats
1/2 cup flour
1 cup brown sugar
1/2 cup butter
1 lb. canned whole berry cranberry sauce

Mix up the oats, the flour and brown sugar. Cut in the butter until it's all a crumbly mess. Place half of this mess in an 8"x8" baking pan sprayed with vegetable oil. Cover all of that with the canned cranberry sauce. Top all of that off with the rest of the oat/flour/sugar mixture. You can make this recipe pareve by substituting margarine for butter.

Bake for 45 minutes at 350 F. Decorate your sukkah.

Serve the kugel in squares topped with French vanilla ice cream or whipped cream for dessert. If you make it pareve, you can serve it as a side to a hot brisket too.

It's supposed to serve 6-8, but I'd eat it all myself.
